Sole responsibility for the decision to close and open camps in the case of any threatened or actual emergency rests with Club SciKidz Houston Owners. Club SciKidz Houston Owners will monitor the weather and closure of school districts (e.g. Fort Bend ISD and Katy ISD) and institutions of higher education (e.g. University of Houston – Sugar Land Campus and University of Houston – Katy) near its campsites. The decision to close will be conveyed to camp directors, counselors, and parents of students by email and/or text messages. Updates and other relevant information will be posted on the Club SciKidz Houston Main Business Line (346-667-6564) and website (barring any power outages).
During inclement weather, it is vital for everyone to stay abreast of news coverage about weather or road conditions and emergency information regarding personal safety and evacuation instructions. Recognizing the diverse range of personal circumstances faced by individuals, Club SciKidz Houston urges camp directors, counselors and parents of campers to make decisions in the best interest for themselves and their families. Employees who are unable to report for regularly scheduled work hours should coordinate with Club SciKidz Houston site directors and owners before taking time off while campsites are open and operating under normal conditions – this may done via the employee scheduling app.
While makeup days would normally occur in a school setting, Club SciKidz Houston does not have the ability to offer such make-up time. In the event that Club SciKidz Houston owners close camp because of inclement weather, affected campers will receive credit on their account for the missed day(s) of camp. Absolutely no refunds will be given. Account credits may be applied to future camp weeks in the same summer season or a Summer season thereafter.
Again, the best sources of information as to whether Club SciKidz Houston is open or closed is the Club SciKidz Houston Main Business Line (346-667-6564).
